Some employers have been sentenced to 6 years in jail for only paying hired immigrants £3 an hour and charged with 'modern slavery' for taking a third of their income for themselves. If that is the definition of 'modern slavery then every government official should be serving a 6 year jail sentence as they tax a third of most people's incomes but of course the charge is ridiculous on its face re the employers in question as no one forced the workers to accept such terms whereas the State forces everyone to agree to a third of their income being deducted on pain of imprisonment -and that is real, modern slavery.
