Do the Tories need their Momentum?

It apparently keeps vague Hague awake at night - the thought that the party might open itself up to humble tory voters and they might just turf milquetoast nothing tories like him into the political dustbin of history and demand an uncompromising agenda to push back the frontiers of the State to pre 1945 Britian before the socialist wreckers entered parliament and turned the country into a socialist serf state.

We are told the age of consensus is dead. Fine. Let it work for both parties then. If ideology is no longer uncool lets join the battle of ideas and advocate unregulated laissez faire capitalism.

One small snag -the tories aren't capitalists. They are middle of the road mixed economyists but with the injection of ordinary voters - after the Momentum model - who are traditionally far less statist than the tory establishment there might just be a chance that the public get a true and real choice once again after countelss generations of fudge ,compromise and soggy centralist managerialisim.
