In the film version of John Buchan's 39 Steps which I saw the end of last evening with Keneth Moore, he had a female sidekick who was handcuffed to him in the plot. How To Politics

Should politicians be paid for by the public through taxation? No. They should be privately funded by their supporters. Why should I pay for Labour,Liberal and socialist politicians?

If I got involved in politics it would not be to help people but to protect them from people like this. They may know your name and every last thing about you: where you live, your telephone number, how many times you go to the bathroom. But what do we know of them? Where do they live? Homeschooling and the exponential growth therof is an open rebuke of the failed flawed and compromised not to say atrocious State system. They won't brook it.

In Germany homeschooling is illegal. One man who attempted it had to flee over the border to escape the pursuing authorities who jail offenders. Ve have vays of making you conform. I rather think the ex teacher might have some sympathy with such a system.

No more funding of the 'arts'. If your art cannot support itself in the marketplace too bad. For most modern paintings hanging is too good for them. Socialist propaganda at taxpayer's expense is over.

No more immigration. In fact we are sending about 5 million back! All mosques are coming down. There is no room for Islam in the West. It belongs in the Muddle East if anywhere. Homeschooling Revolution

The Daily Mail reported yesterday(23.2 07) that more and more British people are homeschooling. Reasons given ranged from poor educational standards,violence and anti social behaviour, innappropriate sex education content,drugs, and lastly but I suspect not leastly circumvention of prosecution of parents for truancy. The latter of course is related to the former because children's truancy is reflected in those problems they are often seeking to escape from.

What an indictment of State education that so many no longer have any faith that it can deliver the goods even on a rudimentary level. Has the time not come to question the State's involvement in education per se and move towards total market based education? Only such a radical step will free the system up from over bureaucratisation,centralisation, sclerosis and insidious socialisation.

Do children who have not even been taught the basics and building blocks of learning such as reading writing and arithmatic need to be initiated into the homosexual subculture with all its attendant unhealthy ramifications? Who benefits from legions of dysfunctional miseducated children flooding the job market other than the welfare departments and the social services who have permanet clients for their dubious services into perpetuity?

Highly unionised education has created an unhealthy bias towards fostering statist mentalities who look to government for all the answers and never develop independence of mind as a result.Parents would do well to examine just what passes for education these days in the typical state school. Lots of it is little more than liberal propaganda across the board with the invidious religion of political correctness supplanting free enquiry and socialist dogma masquerading as objective instruction.

Government plans to raise the school leaving age to 18 are an attempt to extend the lobotomisation process still further, effectively institutionalising the youth population rendering them totally dependent on the State and permanently crippled thereby,wards of governemnt tax based largesse, brainwashed to be little robots of compliance and obesiance.

Having just read an attack on capitalism on the grounds it is inhuman I have been pondering why it is so detested by the left or even some religious conservatives. They talk of the money changers and how Christ threw them out of the temple. I put it down to their own psychological flaws and shortcomings which they project onto a system that exposes those flaws to the glaring light of reality. Where there is no competition there can be no failure.

This particular writer seems to be against non face to face business transactions but unless we return to a primitve communal communistic barter system of rudimentary exchange on a localised level, a hand to mouth existence with no material luxuries it is unrealistic not to say regressive, atavistic, primitivism of the rankest and desperate kind.

He goes on to say that the attack on the WTC exposed America's weak economic underbelly and revealed the tentative contingent and compromise modern trade system with its precarious foundations. On the contrary the globalised reach of capitalism with its movement of intellectual property is the cornerstone of wealth production and has its greatest expression in America, the cornucopia of capitalism from which this ungrateful mental and moral pygmy resides.

If Conservatives have such an ambivalent if not hostile attitude to capitalism is it any wonder the intellectual barbarians of the left are encroaching on our liberties and freedoms from the academic centres of America, through the media to the hearts and minds of the American people.

OK. I never got round to filling in my tax return. They won't bother me, a minnow. Should get a letter soon telling me I owe them £100 for being late, plus a percentage if I continue not to file . CBB Update (More Intellectual Slumming 'Fraid..)

Dirk made an interesting observation. All the strife in the BB house has been caused by the women. They edited him out sharp after that. No doubt he would have ellaborated. But it sufficed. Just had a guided tour of Richard Branson's Desert Island (on TV! - Cribs). He pointed out that as he had a successful hit from Janet? Jackson or the Rolling Stones he would add new buildings to his retreat. He built his citadel on Rockn' Roll... But it got me thinking about the money- making personality and what it requires. Obviously drive and ambition. But what ingredient is so present in Branson and his ilk but is so absent in all others? Don't pretend to have any answers but spirit of adventure would come into it. Upbringing. He got lots of encouragement from his family who were all somewhat eccentric individuals. Single mindedness, tick.

Personality also. I think he is a people-person. Someone sent me a business flyer and on it is a quote from Jim Rohn. " You cannot succeed by yourself. It's hard to find a rich hermit." Howard Hughes? But he became a hermit After.

Thinking 'outside the box'. Tick. Restlessness. What is that man running from?! I don't think he sits still for that long.. A sort of nervous energy. An antipathy to formal education. Was regarded as a bit of a dunce academically and 'dyslexic'. Imagine if he had gone to university! It trains out all the entrepreneurial spirit.

Informality He is not a suit. Unconventional. Contemptuous of sclerotic business institutions who seek via legislation and big government to elbow out competition. Delegation. Faith Healing?

Another blogger has cheekily suggested that aetheist get preferential treatment on the NHS becuase not believing or anticipating a afterlife this present life is all they will be getting and so they deserve the best here and now. Their religious counterparts will get their reward in paradise.

I responded by pointing out that the aetheists probably get the lion 's share of NHS treatment already as being Godless, faithless and wordly they will be more subject to worldy diseases. Just consider. The believer is far less likely to need NHS services for alcohol, nicotine or drug related ailments.

If he truly understands his religion he will be less prone to anger and violence thus avoiding its attendant injuries. He will not have high blood pressure, suffer diabetes, strokes, heart attacks. Opportunistic stress related disease like cancer will be far less likely. Being more conscious the believer is less likely to have accidents car related or otherwise. Being of sunnier hoepful disposition depression will not be so probable, or mental illness. Not being pervert sodomites believers will not require expensive drugs to keep their well earned HIV Aids at bay. Nor will they have abortions .

In short the NHS is for the walking wounded, the aetheists sick in mind and spirit. Let them pay for it.

Is Alcohol The Elephant In The Big Brother Room?

Liquored up the BB contestant's Hyde character emerges. No alcohol and most of the ructions would never have occurred. It is a big problem in the UK. 24 hour drinking facilitates it further. Drinking releases the inhibitions and the dark side emerges or is formed and finds expression.. It is significant that all the aggressors were drinking and the equable characters were drink-free.

Of course humans are the agents of their own destruction but the alcohol is the vehicle that drives them towards it.

Prison Reform

1. Don't call 10 years 'Life'. The word must be banished. At sentencing transparency must be paramount. Call it 10 years or whatever. Not 'Life'. This Alice in Wonderland approach to language in the criminal justice (ahem) system is part of the cancer that corrodes public trust.

2. NO OXYMORONS! ie, 'Open Prisons'. (This is really connected to 1. It that pesky language thing again). Murderers are placed in these 'open prisons' - and guess what? THEY ESCAPE! They rape, murder and they have offences of telephone number proportions. They haven't even served half their 'life' sentence!

3. Don't talk about 'returning criminals to civilian life'. THEY HAVE NEVER LEFT IT! They have more home comforts that your average tax paying Brit. (Ian Huntley has a DVD player. I don't!)

4. Don't talk about taking into consideration 'good behaviour'. Hello? Lets see if we can 'unpick' this. If Mr Criminal doesn't smash up his cell and attack other prisoners or wardens he wil be let out early? Where I come from we call this blackmail.

5. Get the psychobabblers and social worker wet nurses/enablers out of the judicial system. Their job appears to be to rationalise and excuse criminal behaviour with social worker mumbo jumbo. They are parasites on the system. What used to be called evil behaviour is now excused away as an illness.

6. No conjugal visits. (I don't get them!)

7. No drugs. We can send men to the moon but we can't stop criminals taking drugs?

8. No studying for sociology degrees. Let them sew mail bags.

9. No vists from imams for muslim criminals. (It reinforces their criminal mindset.)

10 Purge the judiciary of liberal judges.

11. NEVER allow criminals to vote!

12 Build more prisons! Use the money that is at present squandered on 'the Arts'. Or lottery money. Or sack some government bureaucrats.

Why We Don't Need Coolie Immigration

We have, by this government's own admission one million people sitting idle on 'disability' benefits. What a disgrace. Same thing happened with immigration in the 50's which opened the floodgates. We 'needed' bus drivers the politicians said. Why? Because we had welfare so indigenous people didn't have to take those jobs.

Taxman

Can't put it off any longer. I have got to do my tax return. (On Monday!) Or rather get an accountant to do it for me because I cannot understand the forms. That'll cost me £80. Even though I barely worked that period I've still got to have the thing filled in. (That's if I am not too late for the deadline when there will be a fine of £100 I think.)

Although I worked for a company they made me self employed. So they don't have to fill in the forms. Why don't all companies do that? It would save them a lot of bureaucracy. Perhaps it was because mine was commission only. Whatever. I don't blame the company for doing that. I do of course blame the government for making me do their work for them. I am not a bureaucrat. Perhaps they would like to come and dig my garden? Oh I forgot. They don't work. They prey on those who do...

Socialism Cannot Be Reformed

The great Doctor Crippen thinks it can on his NHS blog. He might just as well try to put a plaster on a tumor. The Thatcherite atempts at reform were a mistake precisely for this reason. All it did was give capitalism a bad name. As that other great lady (Rand) once said: "The only compromise between food and poison is death".

But it is even more insidious because socialism gets a bail out. Had those reforms not been attempted NHS State Socialism would have been given its last rites long ago.

It takes a rare talent for an interveiwer to make John Prescot look Statesmanlike but Edward Stourton pulled off this amazing feat yesterday on the Today programme. He insisted on pumping poor Prezza for a good five minutes on Saddam and his er, undignified end, and JP had a right ding dong with him. The chap had come on to talk about something completley different and Stourton made a complete ass of himself.

Austria's Anti Nazi Nazis

Putting David Irving the Holocaust denier in jail for a year is what psychologists would call over-compensation. Austria being guilty for its war record seeks to expiate its guilt by throwing a silly historian in jail for a year. All it has succeeded in doing is reminding the world of its Nazi roots.

In Germany Meine Kampf is banned. The same syndrome is at play here. You can bet Das Kapital is not banned: National Socialism bad, International Socialism good....

I wonder if there are any Muslims in Austria?(!) and if so whether any of them have been jailed for their anti semitism. Ditto in Germany. ..

Liddle Scourge Of Aetheists

Excellent programme on ch 4 (all its past sins are forgiven!) by Rod Liddle wherein he did a demolition job on aetheism. Although he gave them a good going over the most damning indictment of this fallacious creed issued from the mouths of the aetheists themselves. Such hermetically sealed ignorance was a wonder to behold. Close to being programme of the year.

For Crying Out Loud

Much as I enjoy reality shows I can see how manipulative they all are. Not one of them can get through the hour without the participant's copious shedding of tears. I blame Diana... From stiff upper lip to cry baby nation in one generation, and it ain't an improvement.

Heaven knows there is enough to cry about in this country alone without manufacturing the emotion.

Secret Millionaire/ Scrooge?

If you appear on a TV programme as a great philanthropist millionaire giving money to the deserving and hand out £5 ,£10 ,£15,000 pound cheques why bother? It is the equivalent of me giving 10p to charity. From thinking it is a good programme I have gone to thinking it is all a bit of an empty show. It is on again tonight so I will porobably watch anyway. Maybe the mills' get paid for being on the show as well?!

Dickins Curmudgeon RIP

Sad death of Mike Dickins in a car crash. Probably one of the best British broadcasters in the last 50 years. There will be a big hole in Talksport which not even the great Whale will be able to fill.

Methadone In Their Madness

Monty Don's attempt to help junkies by inviting them to leave their urban drug fuelled squalor and work on the land (BBC prog) may be commendable - or a fool's errand, but the role of the State in facilitating their addiction by dispensing methadone is worrying. It is typical of the coke-eyed approach of State that it thinks it can salve a problem by feeding it. Whether it is providing needles to junkies or houses to single parent mothers the State has become an enabler and facilitator to social evils across the board.

Now there is talk of liberalising the prostitution laws in the wake of the Ipswich killings. Always the counsel of despair... A nice little tax revenue from the 'sex industry' is beckoning. We now face the prospect of the State As Pimp. It already has its grubby hands in the gambling industry which in my book spells only one thing. It is official. We now have Government as Mafia....

And Another Thing....

Is there much difference between what goes on in Saudi Arabia with bribes and what happens here in the UK where every time you want to effect a business transaction you have to pay off government officials via tax? The system is more sophisticated and has a patina of legality to it but essentially the two systems are the same.

Those who deplore the decision to drop the corruption investigation re Saudi Arabia are high water hypocrites. Anyone who claims Rothko was anything other than a Con Artist is delluded. Simon Schama spent an hour last week attempting just that and all he proffered by way of his defense was an endless procession of cretinous daubings consisting of one half blue, the other black. Anti Communist Hero Pinnochet Dies

He rid his nation of the evil of communism and presided over an economic boom as well as giving assistance to the UK in the Falklands war. If he was such a right wing president how come he sided with Britain against the fascist dictatorship of Argentina? No leftists have addressed this. As the hate figure of the Left Pinnochet's departure deserves our commiseration and their hounding of him in his last years in which this government assited will be one more black mark against Kim ill Blair.

Moral Degradation As Sport

Following on from the previous post there was another reality prog last night, on I think ch 4, (can't rember the title) that perfectly illustrates the points made on said post. Here they had a Big Brother scenario where people are placed in a hermetically sealed controlled artificial environment and promised a large sum of money. They all have to give reasons why they think they most deserve to get it.

I only saw a fraction of this odious prog but got the gist of it. A homosexual (token -actually there were two) insisted that a Lapdancer was the most deserving and the group then proceeded to have bitter arguments over the issue. High moral postions were assumed and no one had the ethical perspective to recognise that not one of them deserved this unearned largesse. Morover they were incapable of seeing what a corrupting effect the mere hint or possibility of receiveing the unearned had had on them and their behaviour.

The fact that TV companies are prepared to place people in such compromising and degrading situations for pure greed and larcenous motives and that they can find willing participants in such a degrading dehumanising excercise is a sad commentary on the moral state of the nation eh what?

Secret Millionaire

They go undercover posing as Joe Public eking out a living on the dole, mixing with the underclass whilst really being multi millionaires. Their objective is to find worthy recipients of their dough. A reality programme I find engrossing and instructive. At the end of their stay they reveal their true status and hand out largish cheques to their chosen recipients.

This week the chap was a plain speaking Conservative voting businessmen who dismissed all of the doleites as the parasites they undoubtedlty are. He was not going to give them any more unearned dosh. Just like Government huh?

He eventually found a few deserving hard working people, one a recent refugee and also, (perhaps dubiously), he contributed to an asylum refuge. The point is clear however. Where individuals can discriminate between the worthy and unworthy, deserving and undeserving poor, benevolence has true value and purpose. When governments get in on the act the results are almost always deleterious not to say catastrophic - socially, economically, politically and morally.
