My second thought is that Brown must not be let anywhere near the levers of power.Blair must stay to the very end and defer it as long as possible.Simon Heffer must have been reading my thoughts as he comes to the same conclusion in today's telegraph(sorry still don't know how to link).Must find the missing link. I have! It is called Brown.The misssing link between the animal and vegetable kingdom (ie between Marx and Keynes.)
Blair, I went on musing, is a nice fellow and you wouldn't mind him as a next door neighbour -my ultimate test.But Brown -well,have sympathy for Tony because Brown is the neighbour from hell.If he becomes leader there would have to be an election as no one voted for or mandated this mad Marxist as leader.

You are of course quite correct in your assessment of Brown, and probably Cameron as well, although I’ll wait a bit longer before I start hating him. He might yet emerge as a Tory at the next general election.
However, I detect some sympathy for Blair in your post. Be careful, he may be charming and affable, but these are supposed to be attributes of the anti-Christ.
Yes but you must remember his Churchillian role in the battle against Islamfascism.
Hmmm......Yes, Blair certainly acted Churchillian, but I suspect that there was a hidden agenda.
It may have been a blind subservience to the USA, which is strange for someone who claims to be a socialist.
It may have been some hidden religious motive. We know Blair is Church of England who was toying with the idea of becoming a Catholic. I've nothing against either religious faction, but you can be sure that those who chop and change between religions take the whole thing far too seriously.
Maybe I'm being too suspicious, but when Churchill was making Churchillian statements we all knew where we stood. Blair is no Churchill.
Even if he is only aping something he doesn't fully understand it was still a whole lot better than how it could have been with the knee JERK standard Left anti Americanism.
