No matter what great exciting revolutionary technological advances science brings about government always wants to step in and appropriate it by presenting it as a 'challenge' that it needs to protect people from thru regulation taxation and co option. It thus sucks the life out of innovation and creativity like a parasite invading a host and entirely taking it over.
By a clever sleight of hand the general public gets to believe that it was the government that created these innovations all along and was the source of them, so insidiously and sinuously has the state's appropriation of them been.
One only has to listen to state operatives -politicians talking about the advances in AI technology to see the extent to which they have muscled in on it like any mafia gang and appropriated it to serve their iniquitous and sinister collectivist ends. Thus the h very technology that could liberate people from their present limited experiences is thus co opted by the state to control them even more and used as a tool to curtail their liberties and a tax rasing opportunity to further expand and extend the oppressive remit of the state.
